Current Opportunities

National Grid Gas Transmission Sites - ‘Competent Person'

Carnell have been appointed as a contractor on the National Grid Minor Civils framework, which provides general civil engineering and minor Mechanical & Electrical works to National Grid across the whole of the UK.

Due to recently expanding capability requirements, Carnell require a ‘Competent Person' to strengthen the level of service delivery on Gas Transmission Sites.  The role will be on a national basis.

Applicants must have previous experience with National Grid works or have worked in the gas/petrochemical industry with experience in areas such as high hazard working and team leading. Ideally candidates should also have SCO 91 qualification, however training may be provided for those with the necessary experience.

Survey Operatives

Starting in January (2012) on an initial 3 month contract, Carnell require operatives to work as part of a survey team for Carnell's Water Management Solutions department.

Operatives will be utilising bespoke software to capture drainage asset data using GPS handheld equipment, to allow all information to be mapped for the client.  Full training will be provided for suitable applicants and whilst experience working on the highways and a CSCS card are an advantage, they are not essential.

Attractive rates of pay will reflect that the work is generally carried out at night.  If working away from home during the week, a good daily living allowance will be provided.
