Carnell Win Bardon Contracting Safety Award
Carnell's Chief Executive Darren Nelson was presented with the ‘Safety Performance' Award at the Bardon Contracting Supply Chain Day 2010 on the 22nd September.
The award recognised Carnell's commitment to safety, their excellent record of zero AFR and their performance on the A14 major maintenance scheme for AIGOL, a JV comprising of Aggregate Industries (Bardon's parent company) and Geoffrey Osborne Ltd.
Following resurfacing works between Catthorpe Interchange and J1, Carnell successfully utilised their unique STONEmaster process to recycle 17km of filter drains, leading to a number of safety improvements over traditional refurbishment methods, including the minimisation of roadworker exposure.
Earlier in the day, Darren had the opportunity to present to the 150 guests the benefits of the A14 contract and other schemes where Carnell have adopted lean improvements and low cost solutions.
Upon handing over the award, Mike Archer, National Contracting Director at Bardon Contracting commented, "Safety is our priority, and it's great to see our partners in the supply chain supporting us in our aim of achieving a Zero Incident workplace."
