Carnell Help Raise over £2000 for Charity
‘Team Carnell' comprising of Chief Executive Darren Nelson and cycling chums Pete Boulton and John Wilson completed the Dark Peak Mountain Bike Challenge on the 11th October, and in the process raised more than £2000 between them, for the British Heart Foundation.
The 3 riders tackled the 38 mile Peak District route along with 220 other competitors, and despite the challenging terrain which featured tough climbs and fast technical descents, Pete finished the challenge in second place, whilst Darren and John finished together in a respectable mid-field position.
Before the event Darren commented on the work of the BHF: "The proceeds of this, my first charity event, will be donated to the British Heart Foundation, who ensure quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease. They focus on investing in pioneering research, supporting and caring for heart patients and provide vital information to help people reduce their own risk of dying prematurely from a heart or circulatory related illness.
