Halo GPS Light

Carnell have taken delivery of new custom-built lighting elements to enhance safety and productivity of the GPS operation, a key activity of the Water Management division.

To get accurate GPS results, operatives must have a steady grip on the pole supporting our highly accurate satellite receiver units, whilst their free hand is required to input crucial information into the associated data logger.  The operation is usually undertaken at night, and the obvious solutions of holding a torch or using a head lamp proved awkward and impractical, and so we set about designing our own unique solution.

The Halo Light attaches to the top of the GPS pole and emits a bright light downwards to fully illuminate the GPS equipment, data logger and immediate ground area, leaving the operator a free hand to input data and perform other tasks.  An added benefit is that the surrounding area is also lit, meaning the operator can see any concealed hazards, making their journey between chambers a safer one.
