Carnell are CIHT Award Winning ‘Effective Partner'

Carnell as a key member of the Area 3 Supply Chain Community were winners of the Effective Partnerships category at the 2011 CIHT Awards.

The awards are a celebration of the highways and transportation industry and were held at the Honourable Artillery Company, London on 15 June.  Competition was fierce as the 9 categories received over 150 entries from contractors, consultants and local authorities across the UK.

The ‘CIHT / Costain Award for Effective Partnerships' recognises where added value has been achieved through collaboration, in the delivery of transport solutions.  The judges comments included:  ‘We were impressed by the achievements of a large and diverse partnership and how the whole supply chain were encouraged to support delivery of a wide spread of key objectives.'

The Area 3 Supply Chain Community is led by EnterpriseMouchel (EM) who were appointed as Managing Agent Contractor (MAC) by the Highways Agency in 2008.  Carnell play an active role in the integrated groups, chairing the SHE Group and providing significant input to the Performance Group.  Earlier in the year, Carnell were presented with two of the five awards at EM's Annual Dinner.

James Haluch of EM remarked:  "Carnell are an integral part of the Area 3 supply chain and have demonstrated both a considerable reduction in the costs of maintenance, and significant improvements in roadworker safety."
