Highways Depot Contract Award

Carnell have been awarded a prestigious contract for the complete construction of a three-door garage and welfare facility at Area 3's Whitley Wood highways depot adjacent to the M4 near Reading.

The steel framed garage is to be erected next to an existing salt barn and will house the winter maintenance fleet. The welfare facility will provide a permanent base for the operations team. Carnell are providing a full solution from start to finish; from design through to commissioning.

Works include groundwork, steel framed building structure, lightweight modular frame system, cladding, mechanical & electrical (M&E) works, plumbing and decorating.

The building has been designed to achieve a ‘Very Good' rating under the BREEAM scheme and will be one of the first to be completed under the new 2011 regulations.

The completion date will be April 2012.
