Business Administrator (Route One Infrastructure)

We are currently looking for a Business Administrator to be the welcoming face of our reception, and to provide support for our Commercial, Operations & finance teams. A key player the role will cover various roles for leave or other absences and ensure continuous smooth operations across all teams.  Reporting to one of the Contracts Managers / Senior QS, you’ll handle a variety of administrative tasks and thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
Location: Featherstone (West Yorkshire)

Trainee Site Supervisor

As a Trainee Site Supervisor, you will plan and co-ordinate works and be the main contact point for the client and the Carnell operations team. You will be responsible for the safety, quality and environmental elements of the work being undertaken and the welfare of Carnell employees and agency labourers. employees and agency labourers. The Trainee Site Supervisor will need to work as part of a team and have excellent communication. Within this role you will be required to work nationally, most of our roles within this department are a mixture of day/evening shifts, therefore it is essential that you can work both days and nights.

Site Manager (Temp)

The Site Manager plays an important role in delivering the work programme to the client to time, cost and quality. The role holder is responsible for the day to day running of site, working with the Contract Manager to ensure that all client timescales are met without exposing Carnell to risk. Taking responsibility for the safety, quality and environmental elements of the work being undertaken they essentially provide the bridge between site operations and office-based management. As such the role holder needs excellent IT skills, communication skills, and the ability to lead multi discipline site teams.

As a Site Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, planning, and delivery of highways projects across Scotland. You’ll manage supervisors and site teams working on drainage surveys, trenchless remediation, Filter Drain Recycling), and wider civils activities on the Strategic Road Network. You’ll ensure that every project under your supervision runs safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards — while supporting our broader business strategy to grow our presence in Scotland.
Location: Scotland (with some support to Northern England when required across Various sites, working away and night shifts required.

The Managing Quantity Surveyor will work closely with the operational team to achieve shared commercial objectives and drive business success.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget. You will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates, monitoring project expenditures, and implementing effective cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
Location: Hybrid role and will vary between working on site, at home and in the office.

Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor at Carnell, you will play a key role in managing the financial performance of our projects — from cost planning and forecast management to contract administration and risk reduction. We’re seeking a Site Manager to oversee daily operations on highways projects across Scotland, ensuring safe, high‑quality, on‑programme delivery. You’ll manage supervisors and teams delivering drainage surveys, trenchless works, FDR, and civils activities, while supporting business growth. Working days or nights, you’ll collaborate with clients, assist Contract Managers, and occasionally support projects in the North of England.
