Contract: Full time

As Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include producing the month end management accounts, performing/reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as any other ad-hoc projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Manage the assistant management accountant to ensure month end is completed by the required deadlines.

· Ensure all 1-2-1’s and appraisals are completed for the team.

· Assist the FC in preparing the statutory accounts.

· Assist the FC in preparing the corporation tax computations for the Carnell Group.

· Assist the FC in the preparation of budgets.

· Prepare and post all month end journals and invoices for the Carnell Group by the required deadlines.

· Ensure the fixed asset register is regularly reviewed and items are only capitalised if in line with accounting standards.

· Ensure the stock listing is regularly reviewed and stock counts are been performed.

· Prepare and send to department heads their required month end spend reports (such as HR/Hotel spend/ Plant etc).

· Prepare and/or review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring any risk is flagged to the financial controller.

· Assist with interim and year end audit queries.

  • Reliable
  • Competent with Microsoft Office
  • At least 2 years experience of managing a team
  • Up-to-date with regulation regarding technical accounting, corporation, tax etc
  • Computer literate
  • Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA
