We are proud to have been recognised as Champions by Driving for Better Business, a government-backed Highways England programme to help employers in both the private and public sectors reduce work-related road risk, decrease the associated costs and improve compliance with current legislation and guidance.
The measures we have introduced to our fleet have improved driver safety, while over the last 3 years, third party claims reduced by 60%, with further benefits as follows:
We have reduced annual insurance claims costs from £130,000 to £46,000 and we are forecasting that we are set to reduce these claims costs even further.
We have reduced Incident number v Fleet Ratio by 25% since 2015 to date, and we are confident that this trend will continue.
The number of driver interventions has fallen a staggering 85% over a 3yr period.
Highways England Chief Executive Jim O’Sullivan presented the certificate to our Plant & Transport Director, Lee Gill during the award ceremony (pictured above). This took place during the DfBB Private Sector Summit, held at the McLaren Thought Leadership Centre, and coincided with the Fifth United Nations Global Road Safety Week. Following the award, Lee who acts as our Work Related Road Safety (WRRS) Manager said: “The Health, Safety and Wellbeing of our workforce is paramount to us and we are constantly striving to improve our Road Safety and fleet performance year on year”.
