Carnell received two awards at the Highways England Supplier Recognition Scheme ceremony in Birmingham on 24th February 2017.
Carnell entered their Smarter Drainage Asset Management solution ‘FASTtrack’ into the Managing Down Cost category. Meanwhile the SMARTcam innovation was up against 37 other entries for the ‘Safety, Health & Wellbeing’ award.
Carnell were narrowly edged out in both categories but were Highly Commended for their efforts to improve value and enhance roadworker safety. Pictured is Carnell’s Managing Director Aidan Clarke who was on hand to collect the certificates from Highways England Chief Executive, Jim O’Sullivan (standing on the left) who said: “We need and value the expertise, ambition and innovation our supply chain partners bring, because without them we cannot deliver the £15 billion Government investment”.

Highways England seek to recognise evidence of industry leading commitment to improving corporate and workforce health and safety. Carnell submitted SMARTcam: a real breakthrough in enhancing roadworker safety.
The Highways England Supplier Recognition Scheme is in its sixth year and received 130 applications from across the industry. The awards are open to all suppliers that have worked on projects maintaining the HE’s strategic roads network.
