Carnell’s Internet of Things (IoT) Solution ‘OverheadSafe’ is a finalist in the Safety category at the Intelligent Infrastructure Challenge to be held at Highways UK on the 7th and 8th November.
As part of the judging process, Technology Innovation Manager Dave Goldsby will be doing a 10 minute Dragons Den style demonstration including an elevator pitch presentation and cross examination by industry expert judges.
OverheadSafe has been developed by Carnell’s Innovation Team as a Personal Hazard Alert System worn by members of the site team to provides a clear and visible warning of overhead hazards. It is an enhancement to current GS6 guidance, providing a safety net especially during hours of darkness, where blue cones and goalposts have not been noticed. OverheadSafe uses GSM connectivity along with GPS, accelerometer and gyroscope sensors, with data uploaded to the cloud so that it can be monitored by back-office teams.
