RoSPA President’s Award Hat-trick

Carnell landed their third RoSPA President’s Award for Health & Safety as a result of achieving their twelfth consecutive RoSPA Gold Award.

The prestigious annual awards are for health and safety performance across the previous year. On being notified of the official result, David Foster SHEQ Director at Carnell said: “We are proud of the health and safety culture within the business and this award outwardly demonstrates our desire and commitment to protect the health and safety of employees at work. Gaining a third consecutive RoSPA President’s Award is a tremendous achievement and is a direct reflection of the support and commitment to health and safety that we receive from our employees and supply chain partners. The award also demonstrates our commitment to Highways England’s aspiration to prevent people being injured while working on the strategic road network”.

In response, Deputy Manging Director Andrew Sharp commented “Fantastic news, and a well done to all our teams on another great achievement and safety milestone. Most importantly though this recognises our continued unwavering commitment to doing all we can to ensure our teams, partners and suppliers go home safe and well.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s achievements director, said: “The RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, but it receives entries from organisations across the globe, making it one of the most sought-after achievement awards for health and safety worldwide. RoSPA is very proud of the achievements of its entrants, and with this award we recognise the best of the best, those organisations that have gone the extra mile, raising the bar for the delivery of safety in the workplace. Employees, wherever they may be should be able to go to work safe in the knowledge that they will return home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day.”

The virtual awards ceremony will be held on 9 September 2021 and provide recognition of the achievement from RoSPA President Baroness Jolly, and RoSPA chief executive, Errol Taylor.
