SHEQ Director David Foster has been presented with the prestigious RoSPA President’s Award on behalf of Carnell after achieving 10 consecutive Gold Awards.
The RoSPA Awards are held annually by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), and are the longest-running and most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety. The ceremony took place today (6th June 2019) at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.
Following the presentation, David Foster said: “Carnell’s success is based on the safety of our work force. We have been receiving RoSPA Awards since we achieved our first Silver Award in 2006 and that is down to both the strong safety culture we have and the support from employees, without whom we wouldn’t achieve these results. I will continue to drive our Be SAFE initiative to the site teams which reinforces Highways England’s vision that no one should be harmed when travelling or working on the strategic road network.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “Winning a RoSPA Award demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and achieving the standard required is no mean feat. The awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year.”
