SAFETYcam won another award at the CIHT North West Awards Dinner on 20th April. The joint submission from Carnell & Kier was victorious in the Safety category.
The mobile road worker protection system is an intelligent site safety innovation which acts as a conspicuous deterrent and improves driver behaviour. The dual camera system virtually eliminates vehicle incursions into traffic management and dramatically reduces the number of site vehicles exceeding speed restrictions when passing the workforce.
Carnell also entered the Best Practice Award, submitting a Digital Solution for Managing Fatigue which was highly commended. This easy to use and cost effective solution uses apps developed in-house to record door-to-door activity, alerting supervisors in real time if any operatives are approaching compliance limits.
After receiving the award for SAFETYcam, Darren Nelson Carnell Chief Executive said, “Big thanks to everyone behind the scenes including Highways England and their Innovation Designated Fund who backed this idea which is now saving road worker lives.”
