SMARTview

Quick, Safe and Cost Effective Drainage Surveys

Carnell’s SMARTview system provides a fast, safe and affordable option for the inspection of enclosed drainage systems. SMARTview eliminates the need for confined space entry and minimises any traffic management requirements and associated disruption to road users.

The SMARTview cameras, as well as the handheld data capture and GPS systems are fully mobile, operating independently of any vehicle support and are capable of operating for 8 hours free from external power supplies. SMARTview delivers a significant speed advantage over traditional CCTV survey methods and is particularly effective when used for Connectivity Surveys and Culvert Surveys to relevant HA standards.

SMARTview enables asset-level condition surveys of the drainage network, regardless of location, often without the need for expensive and disruptive access works or traffic management systems. The cameras can identify all forms of structural drainage defects such as collapses, cracks, crossed utilities, blockages and liner failure; all without any need for hazardous and time consuming confined space entry.

SMARTview condition surveys can be carried out independently or combined with asset inventory surveys. The output can either be customised to meet specific asset management system requirements (such as HADDMS) or converted into all standard electronic formats.

The benefits

  • Fully portable equipment allowing surveys to any part of a drainage network
  • Ability to work without TM achieves a major cost reduction of surveys
  • Eliminates confined space entry, enhancing safety
  • Ease of mobilisation leads to quicker surveys

Typical uses

  • Connectivity surveys to prove flow and configuration of drainage network
  • Culvert surveys where crawler cameras cannot travel over silt, debris or obstacles.
  • Standard surveys where chamber access is restricted.
  • To investigate assets which are away from the carriageway.

How does it compare?

1500

METRES PER SHIFT

Outputs are increased as the camera zooms down the pipe rather than physically travelling through it.

3X

FURTHER

Outputs are tripled, compared to a traditional CCTV drainage survey.

100%

REDUCTION IN TM

TM can be eliminated. CCTV vans are not required and operatives can work 'off-network' using the fully mobile equipment

1X

PERSON OPERATION

No 'back-lad' is required for camera insertion or cable feeding.

0

CONFINED SPACE ENTRIES

Pole mounted camera means access can be gained from road level.

8

HOURS OPERATION

SMARTview capable of operating for 8 hours free from external power supplies
