Contracts Manager

Covering the West Midlands (Highways England Area 9).

Managing all aspects of an individual contract and ensure that all client timescales are met.  Our Contracts Managers also develop the employee resources allocated to the contract and ensure cooperation throughout the team is achieved.  You must be able to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.

Principal Duties:

  • Safety, Health & Environmental – Ensure all works under their control are carried out safely and that they do not pose a danger to the workers on site, sub-contractors, site visitors or members of the general public.
  • Quality – Ensure all works are carried out to the contract specification.
  • Commercial – Manage and report on the commercial performance of the contract, including monthly CVR Reviews.  Achieve targets and identify variation orders for commercial assessment.
  • Resource Management – Plan and programme site works in accordance with the instructions of the client and prepare the associated Site Works Plan.  Ensure that all plant, machinery and personnel are suitable.
  • Client Relationships – Liaise with clients and maintain good business relationships to help ensure a steady flow of work and identify new opportunities.
  • People – Responsibility for performance of Supervisors and Foremen under their control and to continually appraise and develop their skills, and those of new starters, through coaching and training.
