We invite interested candidates to apply for a position within our electrical team, with works ranging from major LED conversions & wholescale column replacements to electrical testing and highways technology upgrades. We have a diverse range of skills within the team and wish to complement them further with an experienced electrician.
Competent in supervising electrical works, ranging from wholescale renewal, cable replacement, lantern swap outs, site investigation & highway technology works.
To carry out all aspects of electrical works including cable installation and termination ,electrical minor works ie lantern replacements , fault finding and repairs ,general inspection ,testing of both new and existing installations and the relevant certification. You must be able to work safely and collaboratively with clients and colleagues. You will work considerately and take into account the requirements of customers: road users and the communities you work in. As a representative of Carnell, any interaction with customers will be empathetic and courteous.
Liaise with electrical manager to outline works
Ensure all works carried out are to a high standard both in quality and electrical safety
Carry out all types of electrical/non-electrical works as requested
Assist in production and maintain works planning packs and construction phase plans
Carry out start of shift briefs and record site diaries
Notify electrical manager and quantity surveyor of any changes on site that affect price or programme
Ensure accurate timely results from testing and inspections
Organise and prioritise your work and work of others out on site to ensure deadlines are met
Complete all necessary documentation
Ensure all RAMS are read, understood and followed
Adhere to all Carnell and client’s safety rules and policies
Training and Capabilities:
Time served electrician with recognised City and Guilds (or equivalent) electrical qualifications.
Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
CSCS Gold Card
Experience and knowledge in CDM
HERS recognized NVQ Level 3 (or in progress)
Full driving licence
An understanding of relevant health & safety legislation
BS7671 current wiring regulations
Able to read and understand site drawings and test certificates
Professional attitude and ability to lead with minimum supervision
Capable of relaying accurate information back to colleagues
While advertised for the midlands, we operate nationally and are happy to accept applications from outside of the area from suitable candidates. Some flexibility will be required regarding working hours / working away from home.
