Role Overview
You will provide independent engineering and supervisory support to schemes. You will be reliable, responsible, professional and knowledgeable. You will report directly to either the site manager or contracts manager of the scheme, and you will be expected to work with the minimum of supervision and training during the provision of your duties.
You will be expected to easily manage established site systems to control the flow of engineering information and control between Carnell and their Client. As such you will be expected not only to provide engineering control (line and level) to any operations being undertaken but you will be responsible for identifying and generating technical queries to ensure works are constructed with the full agreement of the Designer.
You will be responsible for monitoring the quality of workmanship against ITPs, raising NCR’s when work or processes fail to reach their minimum target and the production of comprehensive as-built information to allow completion of the schemes H&S file. You will be trained and expected to check elements of temporary works at various stages of their installation or removal.
You will be expected to produce a detailed site diary of operations under your control and interim progress reports stating the engineering position of the scheme your on, including updates to contract programmes using MS Project.
You will work considerately and take into account the requirements of customers: road users and the communities you work in. As a representative of Carnell, any interaction with customers will be empathetic and courteous.
