In April 2024, we bought Route One Infrastructure, an established bridge and structures specialist. The acquisition increases our capabilities to include the maintenance of bridge expansion joints, waterproofing systems, bearings, concrete repairs and cathodic protection.
Based in Yorkshire, Route One have several framework contracts with National Highways in the ‘Structures, Waterproofing & Expansion Joints’ lots. In addition, we operate across the country in the capacity of a sub-contractor or principal contractor.
As bridge deck waterproofing contractors, Route One Infrastructure is able to provide planned and reactive structural waterproofing services throughout the UK.
Across Highways and Commercial applications, as a GCP Applied Technologies-approved contractor, we supply and install both the Eliminator and Bridgemaster bridge waterproofing systems, both of which make use of rapid-curing MMA (methyl methacrylate), so you can be sure your structure is water-resistant and durable as quickly as possible.
Route One Infrastructure provide a total service for the supply and installation of bridge expansion joints for use the Highways and Commercial markets.
Whether for pedestrian or vehicular usage applications, we offer a wide range of expansion joint systems including GCP Applied Technologies Sentinel bridge joint range which makes use of rapid curing MMA (methyl methacrylate) technology.
Our end-to-end service includes full technical advice from initial design to completion and testing which ensures the correct application of the correct systems for our clients.

As a specialist in bridge repairs and bridge strengthening, our experience in the design, construction and maintenance of structures has enabled us to build up an extensive track record of schemes in the highways sector.
We carry out concrete investigation and testing, and when repairs are required, you need both quality materials and a team of highly skilled engineers to guarantee the continued safety, durability, and performance of the structures.
Depending on the size, we use pneumatic tools or hydro demolition to remove defective areas. We then use hand applied mortars or sprayed gunite to achieve a high-quality finish to match the parent concrete. A protective coating can be applied to all the exposed concrete surfaces to enhance the durability by slowing down the corrosion process.
Route One is able to provide a completely bespoke service offering depending on the nature of the job, and as such has a reputation for providing works for many different sectors in a one-off or contract capacity.
