Carnell is proud to announce that we have achieved our 17th consecutive RoSPA Gold Award, earning the prestigious Order of Distinction once again. This year’s recognition is especially meaningful as it coincides with RoSPA’s 70th Anniversary, marking seven decades of championing health and safety excellence across the UK and beyond.
Securing this award for seventeen years running is a testament to the unwavering commitment and vigilance demonstrated by our teams every single day. It reflects not only our systems and processes, but the behaviours and culture that underpin safe working across all Carnell operations.
What is a RoSPA Award?
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) is a leading safety charity dedicated to saving lives and reducing injuries. Their internationally respected awards programme recognises organisations that demonstrate exceptional dedication to health and safety management, accident prevention, and continuous improvement.
Achieving a RoSPA Gold Award signals that an organisation consistently upholds the highest standards of safety performance. It is one of the most recognised and sought‑after accolades in the industry.
Reflecting on the achievement, Danny Pitcher, SHEQ Director, shared his appreciation for the collective effort behind this milestone:
“This award is something we at Carnell should all be really proud of and a reflection of the way everyone works day in, day out. It is built on what happens on site, taking what’s written in procedures and making it real, stopping work when something doesn’t feel right, and challenging how we do things when safety could be better. That’s what keeps people safe. A massive thank you to everyone for living our BE:SAFE culture and not just treating it as words on paper. This achievement belongs to everyone, because everyone has played their part in making it happen.”
Carnell remains committed to strengthening our BE:SAFE culture and continuing to lead by example in the highways sector. This award is not the end of the journey; it is a reminder of what we can achieve when safety is truly embedded in everything we do.
